The upper and lower support bracket mounting bolts are loose.

Tighten the mounting bolts to specifications. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

The instrument panel upper bracket capsule is sheared.

Replace the jacket. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

The shoes in the housing are loose.

1. Clean the components.
2. Inspect the components.
3. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

A shoe lock pin in support is loose.

1. Inspect the shoe lock pin.
2. Replace the shoe lock pin as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

The support screws are loose.

1. Inspect the loose shoe for the correct torque.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .

The tilt head pivot pins are loose.

1. Inspect the pins.
2. Replace the pins as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
