A detent or canceling spring is broken or missing.

1. Inspect the springs.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle

•	Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Foreign material or loose parts are obstructing the yoke movement.

1. Clean the components.
2. Inspect the components.
3. Replace the components as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle

•	Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

The switch is not centered inside the column.

1. Inspect the switch and the mounting screw bosses on the lock housing cover for correct installation.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle

•	Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Replace the switch if none of the above problems exist. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle .
