A tilt spring is rubbing in the housing.

1. Inspect the housing.
2. Service the components as needed. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

•	Tilt Spring - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

•	Tilt Spring - Assemble - Off Vehicle

The upper tilt bumpers are worn.

1. Inspect the upper tilt bumpers.
2. Service the components as needed. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
