Inspect the radio fuse for an open.

Is the radio fuse open?

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 640 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the DIC/HVAC fuse for an open.

Is the DIC/HVAC fuse open?

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT  541 (BRN).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the HVAC HI fuse for an open.

Is the HVAC HI fuse open?

Inspect the ground G 200 .

Is the ground clean and tight?

  1. Disconnect the blower motor harness connector.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  3. Place the mode selector in the front defrost mode.
  4. Place the blower speed control in the maximum speed position.
  5. Use a test light to backprobe the blower motor harness connector between terminal A and terminal B.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Replace the blower motor. Refer to Blower Motor and Fan Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Disconnect the blower motor control module.
  2. Place the mode control in the front defrost mode.
  3. Use a Digital Multi Meter (DMM) to probe between the blower motor control module harness connector terminal C and the ground.
  4. Measure the voltage while using the blower speed switch to go from the minimum to the maximum speed.

Does the voltage vary between the specified values?

0.5-7.0 V

Use a test lamp to probe the blower motor control module harness connector between terminal A and terminal B.

Does the test lamp light ?

Replace the blower motor control module. Refer to Blower Motor Control Module Replacement .

Use a test lamp to probe between the blower motor control module harness connector terminal B and ground.

Locate and repair a poor connection or an open in CKT  150 between the blower motor control module harness connector terminal A and G200.

  1. Disconnect the heater-A/C Control.
  2. Use a test lamp to probe the heater-A/C control harness connector between terminal C 1 and terminal C 12.

Does the test lamp light ?

  1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Use a test light to probe the heater-A/C control harness connector between terminal C 1 and C 5.

Does the test light illuminate?

Locate and repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 541 (BRN) between the fuse block terminal B 2 and the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 5.

Is the repair complete?

Use a test lamp to probe between the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 12 and the ground G 200.

Does the test lamp light ?

Locate and repair a poor connection or an open in CKT  150 (BLK) between the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 1 and G 200.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Locate and repair a poor connection or an open in CKT  640 (ORN) between the Underhood Accessory Wiring Junction Block harness connector C 2 terminal F 7 and the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 12.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Test for continuity of CKT 754 (GRY BLK) between the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 11 and the blower motor control module harness connector terminal  C.

Does continuity exist?

Locate and repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 754 (GRY BLK) between the heater-A/C control harness connector terminal C 11 and the blower motor control module harness connector terminal  C.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Inspect for a short to B+ on CKT 754 (GRY BLK).

Did you find a short to B+ present?

Locate and repair the short in CKT 754 (GRY BLK).
