  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the OFF position.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between the instrument cluster connector C2 terminal E and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

0 Volts

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster harness connector C2.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Ensure that the headlamp switch is in the PARK position.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage between the instrument cluster connector C2 terminal E and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

9-14 Volts

  1. Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 308 between the instrument cluster harness connector C2 terminal E and S212.
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Ensure that the shift selector is in the PARK position.
  2. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C2.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  4. Connect a fused 3 amp jumper between the transaxle range switch harness connector C2 terminal A and ground.
  5. Connect a fused 3 amp jumper between the transaxle range switch harness connector C2 terminal D and ground.

Does the PARK indicator light?

  1. Ensure that the shift selector is in the PARK position.
  2. Ensure that the transaxle range switch connector C2 is disconnected.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  4. Connect a fused 3 amp jumper between the transaxle range switch harness connector C2 terminal C and ground.

Does the DRIVE indicator light?

  1. Adjust the transaxle range switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment in Automatic Transaxle - 4T60-E or Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.

  1. Ensure that the shift selector is in the PARK position.
  2. Ensure that the transaxle range switch connector C2 is disconnected.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  4. Disconnect the instrument cluster harness connector C2.
  5. Inspect CKT 776 between the instrument cluster harness connector C2 terminal B and the transaxle range switch harness connector C2 terminal A.

  1. Repair the poor connection or the open in CKT 776 between the instrument cluster harness connector C2 terminal B and the transaxle range switch harness connector C2 and terminal A.
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Inspect for a poor connection or an open in CKT 1050 between the transaxle range switch harness connector C1 terminal D and G117.
  2. If OK, replace the transaxle range switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T60-E or Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.
  3. Inspect the system.
