Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

    Important: The front wheel speed sensors and rings are integral with the hub and bearing assemblies.

    If a speed sensor or a ring needs replacement, replace the entire hub and bearing assembly. Do not service the harness pigtail individually because the harness pigtail is part of the sensor. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement Front Suspension.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 188809  Size: SH
  4. Remove the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector (2).

  5. Object Number: 188804  Size: SH
  6. Remove the hub and bearing assembly (2). Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement Front Suspension.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188804  Size: SH
  1. Install the hub and bearing assembly (2) to the vehicle. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Bearing Replacement Front Suspension.

  2. Object Number: 188809  Size: SH
  3. Install the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position with the engine off.
  7. Perform the Diagnostic System Check
