Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle has energy-absorbing foam blocks for side impact protection. To help avoid personal injury in a collision, foam blocks that are damaged, or removed during repairs must be replaced. Failure to replace foam blocks that are removed can violate federal law.

  1. Remove the inner trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the retainer.
  3. Remove the pad from the trim panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the door inner panel using oil-free naphtha or alcohol.
  2. Peel the backing from the absorber pad.
  3. Install the retainer.
  4. Install the back door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
