  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A and ground.
  3. Press and hold the driver seat adjuster switch to the FORWARD position.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B and ground.
  3. Press and hold the driver seat adjuster switch to the BACK position.

Does the test lamp light?

Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 285, between the driver seat adjuster switch terminal H and the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal A.

Did you find a poor connection or open in CKT 285?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 285.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the driver seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A and B.
  3. Press and hold the driver seat adjuster switch to the FORWARD position and then to the BACK position.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in both directions?

Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 284, between the driver seat adjuster switch terminal G and the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminal B.

Did you find a poor connection or open in CKT 284?

Go to Step 9

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 284.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for a poor connection in the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C1 terminals A and B.

Did you find a poor connection or open in CKT 284?

Go to Step 11

  1. Repair the poor connection at either terminal A or B.
  2. Inspect the system.
