  1. Connect a test lamp.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C3 terminal A and ground.
  3. Set and hold the front end of the driver seat adjuster switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test light.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C3 terminal B and ground.
  3. Set and hold the front end of the driver seat adjuster switch to the UP position.

Does the test lamp light?

Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 287.

Did you find a poor connection or open in CKT 287?

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 287.
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the driver seat adjuster. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement .
  2. Inspect the system.

  1. Connect a test light.
  2. Backprobe between the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C3 terminals A and B.
  3. Set and hold the front end of the driver seat adjuster switch to the UP and then DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in both directions?

Inspect for a poor connection or open in CKT 286.

  1. Repair the poor connection or open in CKT 286.
  2. Inspect the system.

Inspect for a poor connection or open in the driver seat adjuster motor assembly connector C3 terminals A and B.

Did you find a poor connection or open in either terminal?

  1. Repair the poor connection at the driver seat adjuster motor connector C3.
  2. Inspect the system.
