Disconnect the rear compartment lid lock release actuator connector.

Will the trunk lid latch?

1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release relay.
2. Use a test light in order to probe between the relay terminal A2 and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

1. Inspect the lock assembly and the release actuator for mechanical interference. Refer to Release Actuator Replacement .
2. Repair or replace the components as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair a short to B+ in circuit 56.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Replace the rear compartment lid release relay.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--
