1. Inspect the ignition switch.
2. Replace the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The linkage is maladjusted.

1. Inspect the shift linkage.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Electric Park Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Electric Park Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle or Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The lock cylinder is damaged.

Replace the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle .
