Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 311632  Size: SH
  1. Remove the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the LH IP access panel.

  5. Reach through the LH IP access opening and disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the daytime running lamp (DRL) diode.
  6. Remove the bolt retaining the DRL diode bracket to the underside of the cross vehicle beam.
  7. Remove the DRL diode with bracket (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 313072  Size: SH
  1. Install the DRL diode with bracket (2) to the cross vehicle beam.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the DRL diode bracket to cross vehicle beam retaining bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the DRL diode bracket retaining bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Reach through the LH IP access opening and connect the electrical connector (1) to the DRL diode.

  7. Install the LH IP access panel.
  8. Install the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  9. Install the LH IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
