Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 311663  Size: SH
  1. Open the instrument panel (IP) compartment door.

  2. Object Number: 311665  Size: SH
  3. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
  4. Remove the IP compartment door to IP compartment retaining screws.

  5. Object Number: 311704  Size: SH
  6. Remove the latch assembly.

  7. Object Number: 311661  Size: SH
  8. Remove the IP compartment door from the IP compartment.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 311704  Size: SH
  1. Install the latch assembly.

  2. Object Number: 311665  Size: SH
  3. Align the instrument panel (IP) compartment door with the IP compartment.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the IP compartment door screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the IP compartment door screws to 1N·m  (9 lb in).

  7. Close the IP door.
