Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Use a grease pencil in order to mark the location of the latch to the rear compartment lid for its location at installation.

  3. Object Number: 182247  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear compartment latch release actuator. Refer to Release Actuator Replacement .
  5. Remove the nuts from the rear compartment lock cylinder release actuator studs.

  6. Object Number: 182240  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector to the latch.
  8. Remove the rear compartment latch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 182240  Size: SH
  1. Position the latch to the alignment marks on the rear compartment lid.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nuts to the rear compartment latch studs.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment lid latch nuts to 10 N·m (88 lb in)

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the harness.
  6. Install the rear compartment latch release actuator. Refer to Release Actuator Replacement .
  7. Close the rear compartment.
