Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical
connector.
- Remove the 3 bolts from the inner fender brace, and remove
the brace.
- Loosen the clamp that secures the air intake duct to the air cleaner
housing.
- Carefully remove the air
intake duct from the throttle body and air cleaner housing (1).
- Remove the retaining screws (2) from the air cleaner housing
sections.
- Remove the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
- Without disconnecting the powertrain control module (PCM) connectors,
remove the PCM (4) and the harness from the PCM housing (3).
- Carefully remove the PCM
housing (1) by pulling the housing from the 2 rubber grommets
in the engine compartment. Inspect the assembly for signs of damage, and
replace the assembly, if necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Carefully reinstall the
PCM housing by pushing the housing into the rubber grommets (2) in
the engine compartment.
- Carefully reinstall the PCM (4) and the harness into the
PCM housing (3).
- Reinstall the air cleaner
housing cover assembly (1).
- Reinstall the retaining screws (2) into the air cleaner
housing sections.
- Carefully reinstall the air intake duct to the throttle body and
the air cleaner housing (1).
- Tighten the clamp that secures the air intake duct to the air
cleaner housing (1).
- Position the inner fender brace, and re-install the
bolts.
