Ignition Key Cannot Be Removed from the Ignition Lock Cylinder for Pontiac Grand Prix 2000

Problem

Action

The ignition switch is damaged.
  1. Inspect the ignition switch.
  2. Replace the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The linkage is maladjusted.
  1. Inspect the shift linkage.
  2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The lock cylinder is damaged.

Replace the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle .
