Removal Procedure

  1. If applicable remove the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 703592  Size: SH
  3. Remove the mounting bolt (3) that attaches the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) outlet pipe flange to the intake manifold.
  4. Remove the nut (2) that attaches the EGR outlet pipe to the EGR valve adapter pipe assembly.
  5. Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EGR valve outlet pipe (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install bolt (3) to the intake manifold.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Install retaining nut (2) to the EGR valve adapter pipe assembly.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. If applicable install the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement .
