Pad and Garnish Clip Remover
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat cushion.

in Seats.
- Remove the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to
Front Carpet Retainer Replacement
.
- Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel by disengaging the push-in
retainers using the J 38778
.
- Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel from the rear quarter
inner panel.
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear quarter
lower trim panel to the rear quarter inner panel.
- Install the rear quarter lower trim by pressing into place until
fully seated.
- Install the carpet retainer. Refer to
Front Carpet Retainer Replacement
.
- Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
in Seats.
- Install the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement Sedan
Tools Required
J 38778 Door Trim Pad
and Garnish Clip Remover
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
- Remove the screws from the carpet retainer led of the center pillar
lower trim.
- Use the J 38778
to remove the rear lower quarter trim
panel to body push-in retainers.
- Remove the rear lower quarter trim panel from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the rear lower
quarter trim panel to the vehicle.
- Install the rear lower quarter trim panel to body push-in retainers.
Apply pressure until fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
to the carpet retainer leg of the center pillar lower trim.
Tighten
Tighten the carpet retainer screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the rear seat back. Refer to
Rear Seat Back Replacement
in Seats.
- Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
in Seats.
