Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 318896  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Remove the rear compartment convenience net.
  3. Remove the lower rear compartment convenience net retainers.

  4. Object Number: 769930  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the cellular antenna cable from the communication interface module by pulling outward on the square plastic housing.
  6. Disconnect the two lower connectors from the module.
  7. Disconnect the GPS antenna cable from the module by pulling outward on the circular metal sleeve.

  8. Object Number: 769963  Size: SH
  9. Remove the nuts from the module bracket.
  10. Remove the module and the bracket from the rear compartment.
  11. Remove the rear compartment mat from the rear compartment.

  12. Object Number: 318898  Size: MH
  13. Remove the spare tire cover from the rear compartment.
  14. Remove the spare tire.
  15. Remove the retainers by the rear compartment lock striker.
  16. Fold the rear section of the trim panel foreword.

  17. Object Number: 318893  Size: SH
  18. Fold each side of the trim panel toward the center of the car.
  19. Remove the rear compartment trim panel from the rear compartment.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318893  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment trim panel to the rear compartment.
  2. Unfold the trim panel sides and rear sections and press them into place.

  3. Object Number: 318898  Size: MH
  4. Install the spare tire.
  5. Install the spare tire cover in the rear compartment.
  6. Position the communication interface module and the bracket in the rear compartment.

  7. Object Number: 769963  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the interface module bracket nuts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket nuts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  10. Connect the GPS antenna cable by pushing in on the metal sleeve.
  11. Connect the two lower connectors to the module.
  12. Connect the cellular antenna by pressing in on the square plastic housing.

  13. Object Number: 318896  Size: SH
  14. Install the rear compartment mat in the rear compartment.
  15. Install the retainers by the rear compartment lock striker.
  16. Replace the lower rear compartment convenience net retainers.
  17. Install the rear compartment convenience net.
  18. Close the rear compartment.
