Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 760425  Size: SH
  3. Remove the left inner fender brace (5).
  4. Remove the 2 screws (6) that are holding the air cleaner element housing to the powertrain control module (PCM) housing.

  5. Object Number: 444496  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air cleaner housing cover (1) from the air cleaner housing.
  7. Without disconnecting the PCM connectors, remove the PCM (4) from the air cleaner housing (3).
  8. Remove the air cleaner assembly by pulling the housing away from the rubber grommets in the engine compartment.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air cleaner assembly by pushing the housing into the rubber grommets in the engine compartment.
  2. Install the PCM (4) into the air cleaner housing (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air cleaner housing cover (1) to the air cleaner housing (3).

  5. Object Number: 760425  Size: SH
  6. Install the air cleaner housing cover screws (6).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Install the inner fender brace (5).
  9. Install the inner fender brace bolts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  11. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
