Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. Repeat the procedure in Step 2 for the driver and passenger door lock cylinders.

Did you perform the Theft Deterrent Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition.
  2. Lock the vehicle doors with the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter.
  3. Close all doors and allow the content theft deterrent (CTD) system to arm.
  4. Use the key to unlock the vehicle, holding the key cylinder in the unlock position for 5 seconds.

Do all vehicle doors unlock?

Go to Step 3

Does the CTD system disarm when the doors are unlocked?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 4

Inspect for loose or poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System
