Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the turn signal switch to the TURN LEFT position and then to the TURN RIGHT position.

Do the turn signal lamps and the turn signal indicators flash?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Are only the turn signal indicators inoperative?

Go to Step 5

Is only one turn lamp inoperative?

Go to Step 16

  1. Leave the turn signal switch at the inoperative side.
  2. Using a test lamp connected to a good ground, backprobe the control circuit of the turn signal lamp indicator at the instrument panel cluster.

Does the test lamp flash?

Go to Step 14

  1. Disconnect connector C201.
  2. Using a test lamp connected to a good ground, probe at connector C210 the TURN fuse ignition supply voltage circuit.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher.
  2. Reconnect connector C201.
  3. Using a test lamp at the hazard lamp/turn signal lamp flasher harness connector, probe between a good ground and the turn hazard flasher supply voltage circuit.
  4. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Using a test lamp, probe at the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher harness connector between the turn hazard flasher feed circuit and the ground circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

  1. At the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher harness connector, Install a jumper between the turn hazard flasher supply voltage circuit and the turn flasher signal circuit.
  2. Place the turn signal switch to the left side.

Do the turn lamps illuminate (non flashing)?

Test for a high resistance or open in the turn hazard flasher supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
