Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2002 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Body and Accessories 🢒 Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console 🢒 Engine Oil Level Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 190542 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the engine oil drain plug and drain the engine oil.

    3. Object Number: 54406 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolt from the engine oil level sensor.
  5. Remove the engine oil level sensor from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 54406 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil level sensor to the oil pan.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine oil level sensor bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.

    4. Object Number: 190542 Size: SH
  4. Install the engine oil pan drain plug.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
