Removal Procedure
- Using a small flat bladed tool, open the assist handle covers.
- Remove the screws from the assist handle.
- Remove the assist handle.
- Remove the side rail lamp base plate.
- If necessary, pull the service loop loose from the glue.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the side rail lamp.
- Slide the lamp socket from the base plate.
- Remove the bulb if necessary.
Important: The plastic retainers to the side rail lamp base plate might drop out. Note the location of the retainers.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulb if necessary.
- Install the lamp socket to the base plate.
- Connect the electrical connector to the side rail lamp.
- If necessary, install the service loop to the glue using foam tape.
- Align the lamp base plate to the plastic retainers.
- Position the assist handle to the base plate and the plastic retainers.
- Install the screws to the assist handle.
- Close the assist handle covers by pressing the covers into place until fully seated.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
