Did you review the Power Windows Description and Operation?

Verify that the all power windows inoperative fault is present.

Do the power windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the driver window switch.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Probe the accessory voltage circuit of the driver window switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Connect a test lamp between the accessory voltage circuit of the driver window switch and the ground circuit of the driver window switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Test the accessory voltage circuit of the driver window switch for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the driver window switch. Refer to Door Lock and Side Window and Outside Rearview Mirror Remote Control Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
