Removal Procedure
- Use a J 25070
152 mm (6 in)
from the surface to heat the molding.
- Apply the heat for approximately 30 seconds using a circular motion.
Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing
an emblem/name plate.
- Use a small, plastic, flat-bladed tool to remove the door finish panel from
the door surface.
- Remove the door finish panel from the door.
- Beginning at one end, pull the center pins from
the door finish panel support retainers.
- Remove the door finish panel support from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Align the clips on the door finish panel support
to the holes in the door.
Press the clips into the holes until fully seated.
- Use Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha to clean the body panel.
- Use a heat lamp or J 25070
to warm
the body panel to a minimum of 21°C (70°F), if necessary.
- Install the bottom flange of the door finish
panel into the support.
- Install the locating pins into the door.
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.
- Remove the backing from the door finish panel.
- Push the door finish panel inward to ensure maximum bond to the body.
