Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2005 🢒 Grand Prix 🢒 Transmission/Transaxle 🢒 Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E 🢒 Transmission Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement Body Front End.
  4. Use floor stands to support the transaxle.

    5. Object Number: 161248 Size: SH
  5. Using a jack, slightly take the weight off mount, and remove the transaxle bracket to transaxle mount upper nuts.

    6. Object Number: 161246 Size: SH
  6. Remove the transaxle bracket to transaxle bolts.
  7. Remove the transaxle bracket.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the transaxle bracket to the transaxle.

    2. Object Number: 161246 Size: SH
  2. Hand start the transaxle mount bracket to transaxle bolts.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the transaxle bracket bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Start with the forward lower bolt and work clockwise to tighten the transaxle bracket bolts to 95 N·m (70 lb ft).

  4. Remove the support from the transaxle.

    5. Object Number: 161248 Size: SH
  5. Install the transaxle bracket to the transaxle mount upper nuts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  6. Install the left engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement Body Front End.
  7. Install the left front tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
