Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1217851  Size: SH
  1. Apply the park brake.
  2. Remove the floor console bolts from the sides of the console. Adjust the front seats as required.
  3. Shift the transaxle to 2.
  4. Remove the screw from the shift handle. Remove the shift handle.
  5. Pull upward on the rear of the console assembly in order to release the two vertical fastening clips securing the console assembly to the floor bracket.
  6. Pull the floor console rearward slightly. Disconnect the electrical connector at the front of the floor console.
  7. Remove the floor console.
  8. Remove the wiring harness.
  9. Remove the HUD switch, if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .
  10. Remove the traction control switch. Refer to Electronic Traction Control Switch Replacement .
  11. Remove the accessory power receptacles. Refer to Cigarette Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console and to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  12. Remove the armrest and the hinge. Refer to Front Floor Console Armrest Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the armrest and the hinge. Refer to Front Floor Console Armrest Replacement .
  2. Install the accessory power receptacles. Refer to Cigarette Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console and to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  3. Install the traction control switch. Refer to Electronic Traction Control Switch Replacement .
  4. Install the HUD switch, if equipped. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .
  5. Install the wiring harness.
  6. Position the floor console to the vehicle.
  7. Connect the electrical connector at the front of the floor console. Slide the floor console toward the front of the car.
  8. Push downward on the rear of the console assembly in order to engage the clips securing the console to the floor bracket.
  9. Install the shift handle. Install the shift handle screw.
  10. Shift the transaxle to P.
  11. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  12. Install the floor console bolts. Adjust the front seats as required.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Release the park brake.
