SPARK PLUG USAGE AND GAP PRODUCTION CHANGE

To assist cold startability on some 1982 1.8L OHC-FI engines, at very low ambients, the following change in spark plugs has been implemented:

CURRENT NEW

R42XLS6 R44XLS at.035 Gap

Dealer Service Information Bulletin 83-1-58 Section 6E, currently addresses 1983 model year OHC-FI engines.

When spark plug replacement is necessary, the R44XLS plug at .035 gap should be used regardless of original plug type.
