WHEN INSTALLING A CONTROL VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY ON CAR FOR ANY THM 2004R TRANSMISSION, REFERE TO THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE AND ILLUSTRATION FOR PROPER CHECK BALL LOCATIONS INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1 POSITION EIGHT CHECK BALLS (1 THRU 6, 9 AND 10) ON GASKETS AND SPACER PLATE SEE FIGURE 1 2 INSTALL 3-4 ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY INTO CASE. REFER TO SERVICE MANUAL FOR PROPER ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE. 3 INSTALL GASKETS, SPACER PLATE, AND ACCUMULATOR PLATE ONTO TRANS. RETAIN THE SPACER AND ACCUMULATOR PLATES USING THE SMALL BOLT FROM THE ACCUMULATOR HOUSING.
4 INSTALL THE 1-2 ACCUMULATOR GASKET AND HOUSING. 5 POSITION THREE (3) CHECK BALLS (NO. 8, NO. 11, AND NO. 12) IN THE CONTROL VALVE BODY (FIGURE NO. 2). 6 REMOVE THE SMALL BOLT, RETAINING THE SPACER PLATE AND INSTALL THE VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNAL OIL PIPE. 7 INSTALL REMAINING SMALL BOLT INTO THE ACCUMULATOR HOUSING. 8 TORQUE ALL BOLTS TO 10-14 N.M (7-10 FT. LBS.). 9 REFER TO SERVICE MANUAL FOR PROPER INSTALLATION OF PIPES AND WIRING HARNESS. REFER TO BUICK# 82-I-146 FOR 325-4L -----------------------------------
