BARO SENSOR RELOCATION INFORMATION

Subject: BAROMETRIC PRESSURE SENSOR LOCATION - 1982 "G" SERIES

A barometric pressure sensor is used on all 1982 "G" series equipped with a gasoline engine.

The location of the BARO sensor is in the passenger compartment, under the right hand side of the instrument panel. A plastic tie strap is used to secure the BARO sensor to the remote lamp driver.

To gain access to the BARO sensor or remote lamp driver for service, open the glove box door, depress the spring clip on the left side of the door and drop the glove box forward. The BARO sensor and remote lamp driver will be found tucked into the corner of the instrument panel.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
