Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1225058 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner/resonator assembly and air intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

    3. Object Number: 1240888 Size: SH
  3. Open the throttle valve.
  4. Disconnect the throttle cable, the throttle position sensor, and the idle air control valve connectors.

    5. Object Number: 1240890 Size: SH
  5. Remove the throttle body bolts and nuts.
  6. Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
  7. Discard the throttle body gasket.
  8. Inspect the throttle body gasket for damages.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1240892 Size: SH
  1. Install the throttle body.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body bolts to 9-12 N·m (80-106 lb in).

    Important: Make sure the throttle control cable does not hold the throttle open. With the engine OFF, check to see that the accelerator pedal is free.

  2. Connect the throttle cable, the throttle position sensor, and the idle air control valve connectors.
  3. Fill the engine with coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  4. Install the air intake tube and the air cleaner/resonator assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
