- Inspect the brake drum lining for wear or stain with oil.
- Measure the thickness.
- If the measured value is within the limit value, or if a defect is found, replace the lining.
Caution: Refer to Brake Dust Caution in the Preface section.

The lining wear limit value is 1 mm (0.039 in).
