Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1343805 Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 0.8L.
  2. Remove the battery and battery tray. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  3. Remove the shift cable bracket bolts (1) and bracket.
  4. Remove the E-ring (2) and nut (3).
  5. Separate the shift cable.

  6. Remove the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Interior Trim.

    7. Put aside the floor carpet in order to get the gear shift cable shown.

  7. Remove the shift control clip (3).
  8. Remove the shift control cable E-ring (1).
  9. Disconnect the shift control cable (2).

    10. Object Number: 1348651 Size: SH
  10. Remove the shift cable nut.
  11. Pull the cables out of the passenger compartment.
  12. Remove the shift cable.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1348651 Size: SH
  1. Push the shift cable into the passenger compartment.
  2. Install the shift cable.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the nut.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the shift cable nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the shift control cable (2).
  5. Install the shift cable E-ring (1).
  6. Install the shift control cable clip (3).

    7. Object Number: 1348570 Size: SH
  7. Install the floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Interior Trim.

    8. Object Number: 1343805 Size: SH
  8. Install the shift cable.
  9. Install the E-ring (2) and nut (3)

    10. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Install the shift cable bracket bolts (1) and bracket.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  11. Install battery and battery tray. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  12. Install the air cleaner assembly. refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls 0.8L.
