Front Seat Belt Replacement WithoutEuropean Emissions

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1223374 Size: SH
  1. Slide the front seat forward and fold the seatback.
  2. Remove the bolt (1) on the lower center pillar.
  3. Remove the spacer and the fiber washer (2).
  4. Remove the plastic protector on the seat belt anchor.
  5. Remove the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .

  6. Using a flathead screwdriver, open the bolt cap (1) on the upper center pillar.
  7. Remove the bolt (4) on the upper center pillar.
  8. Remove the spacer and the fiber washer (2).

  9. Remove the floor carpet to see the retractor.
  10. Remove the seat belt retractor bolt (2).
  11. Remove the fiber washer (1).
  12. Remove the seat belt retractor.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Seat Belt Replacement Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the seat belt retractor with the bolt (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  2. Install the bolt on the upper center pillar.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt upper bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  3. Install the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Install the plastic protector on the seat belt anchor.
  5. Install the spacers and spring washer (2).
  6. Install the lower center pillar panel with the bolt (1).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the lower center pillar bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  7. Relocate the seatback.

Front Seat Belt Replacement With European Emissions

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1223374 Size: SH
  1. Slide the front seat forward and fold the seatback.
  2. Remove the bolt (1) on the lower center pillar.
  3. Remove the spacer and the fiber washer (2).
  4. Remove the plastic protector on the seat belt anchor.
  5. Remove the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .

  6. Using a flathead screwdriver, open the bolt cap (1) on the upper center pillar.
  7. Remove the bolt (4) on the upper center pillar.
  8. Remove the spacer and the fiber washer (2).

    9. Object Number: 1223424 Size: SH
  9. Remove the floor carpet to see the retractor.
  10. Disconnect the pretensioner front seat belt connector (1).
  11. Remove the lower retractor bolt (2).
  12. Remove the fiber washer (3).
  13. Remove the seat belt retractor.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Seat Belt Replacement Caution in the Preface section.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Install the seat belt retractor with the bolt (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  2. Connect the pretensioner front seat belt connector (1).

    3. Object Number: 1223433 Size: SH
  3. Install the bolt (1) on the upper center pillar.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt upper bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  4. Install the lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  5. Install the plastic protector on the seat belt anchor.
  6. Install the spacers and spring washer (2).
  7. Install the lower center pillar panel with the bolt (1).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the lower center pillar bolt to 30-45 N·m (22-33 lb ft).

  8. Relocate the seatback.
