Disabling Procedure

    Object Number: 1376180 Size: SH
  1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicles wheels are pointing straight ahead.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  4. Locate the I/P fuse box then remove fuse box cover.

    5. Important: With the F2 fuse removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the AIR BAG warning indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.

  5. Locate and remove the F2 fuse.

  6. Remove the lower center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the seat belt pretensioner-LF connector.
  8. Disconnect the seat belt pretensioner-LF connector from the vehicle harness connector.

Enabling Procedure

    Object Number: 899818 Size: SH
  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Connect the seat belt pretensioner-LF and install the CPA.
  3. Install the lower center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    4. Object Number: 1376180 Size: SH
  4. Install the F2 fuse.
  5. Install the fuse box cover.
  6. Use caution while reaching in and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. The AIR BAG indicator will flash then turn OFF.
  7. Perform the SIR Diagnostic System Check if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - SIR .
