EN 46568 (DW 140-010A) Fuel Pump Lock Ring Remover/Installer

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Safety Goggles and Fuel Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1225068  Size: SH
  1. Start the engine and remove the rear seat cushion (1).
  2. Remove the fuel pump access cover (2).

  3. Object Number: 1225067  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector lock pin (1).
  5. Disconnect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector (2).
  6. Crank the engine for an additional 10 seconds and relieve the fuel system pressure.

  8. Disconnect the fuel outlet line (1).
  9. Disconnect the fuel tank return line (2) from the fuel pump.

  11. Install the EN 46568  (1).
  12. Turn the fuel tank lock ring counterclockwise (1) and remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank.

  14. Remove the fuel pump assembly (1).
  15. Remove the fuel pump gasket (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Methanol Fuel Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Perform an operational check of the ignition switch ON the 2  seconds fuel pump operation.

  2. Object Number: 1225055  Size: SH
  3. Install the fuel pump gasket (2).
  4. Install the fuel pump assembly (1).
  5. Install the EN 46568 .
  6. Install the fuel pump assembly to the fuel tank by turning the fuel tank lock ring clockwise.

  8. Connect the fuel tank return line (2).
  9. Connect the fuel outlet line (1).

  10. Object Number: 1225067  Size: SH
  11. Connect the fuel pump assembly electrical connector (2).
  12. Install the fuel pump assembly electrical connector lock pin (1).

  13. Object Number: 1225068  Size: SH
  14. Install the fuel pump access cover (2).
  15. Install the rear seat cushion.
  16. Turn the ignition ON and inspect the fuel system for leaks.
