Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223142 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the battery harness connector nut to disconnect the battery positive connector (1).
  3. Disconnect the generator harness connector (2).
  4. Disconnect the harness connector.

  5. Loosen the generator adjusting bolt (2).
  6. Remove the bolt and nut (1) that secure the lower bracket to the generator.
  7. Separate the generator drive belt from the generator.

    8. Object Number: 1223145 Size: SH
  8. Remove the attaching reaction rod bolt and nut (2) to the engine mount lower bracket.
  9. Remove the lower bracket bolts (2) from the engine mounting.
  10. Remove the lower bracket (3) from the engine mounting.

    11. Object Number: 1223146 Size: SH
  11. Remove the generator adjusting bolt (1).
  12. Carefully remove the generator (2).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1223147 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mounting lower bracket bolts (1) and nut.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 35-41 N·m (25-30 lb ft).

  2. Install the attaching reaction rod bolt and nut (2) to the engine mount lower bracket.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and nut to 68-83 N·m (50-61 lb ft).

  3. Tighten the generator adjusting bolt (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 4-7 N·m (35-62 lb in).

  4. Tighten the generator lower bracket bolt (1) and nut.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and nut to 18-28 N·m (13-21 lb ft).

  5. Inspect the generator drive belt tension.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
