J 21867 (09915-64510) Oil Pressure Gage or Equivalent
Prior to checking the oil pressure, check the following:
| • | Check the oil level and add if required. |
| • | Replace the discolored, deteriorated, or diluted oil. |
| • | Check any oil leakage and repair the defective parts. |
Check the compression pressure in the following procedures:
- Remove the oil pressure switch (2) from the cylinder block.
- Install
J 21867 (1) to the mounting place of the oil pressure switch.
- Start the engine and warm up to the normal operating temperature.
- Raise the engine speed up to 2,000 RPM; then read the oil pressure.
Specification
At 2,000 RPM the oil pressure should read between 294.2-343.2 kPa (42.67-49.78 psi).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- After checking, wrap the threads of the oil pressure switch with seal tape and tighten to
12-16 N·m (106-144 lb in).
- Start the engine and check oil pressure switch for oil leakage.
