Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  3. Remove the map pocket net. Refer to Front Seat Map Pocket Net Replacement .
  4. Remove the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  5. Remove the recliner handle and cap. Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Recliner Handle Replacement .
  6. Remove the lumbar handle. Refer to Lumbar Support Actuator Replacement .
  7. Unsnap the seat back recliner covers starting at the rear of the cover.

  8. Remove the J retainer (1) from the bottom edge of the seat back cover.
  9. Remove the recliner bolts.
  10. Seperate the seat back from the seat cushion.
  11. Remove the seat back cover from the seat back cushion while separating the hook and loop retainers.

  12. Remove the seat back cover retainer rings (2).
  13. Remove the seat back cover (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat back cover (1).
  2. Install the seat back cover retainer rings (2).
  3. Secure the seat back cover to the foam pad with the hook and loop retainers.
  4. Install the seat back to the seat cushion.

    5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the front seat recliner bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat recliner bolts to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).

  6. Install the J retainer (1) to the bottom edge of the seat back cover.

    7. Object Number: 317161 Size: SH
  7. Firmly snap the seat back recliner covers in place.
  8. Install the lumbar handle. Refer to Lumbar Support Actuator Replacement .
  9. Install the recliner handle and cap. Driver Seat and Passenger Seat Recliner Handle Replacement .
  10. Install the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  11. Install the map pocket net. Refer to Front Seat Map Pocket Net Replacement .
  12. Install the head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
  13. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
