Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Inlet

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 190544  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 190504  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.

  8. Object Number: 190502  Size: SH
  9. Remove the oil cooler connector.

  10. Object Number: 190501  Size: SH
  11. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler.

  12. Object Number: 190500  Size: SH
  13. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose from the oil cooler hose fitting.

  14. Object Number: 190499  Size: SH
  15. If necessary, remove the oil cooler hose fitting.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 190499  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. If removed, install the oil cooler hose fitting.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler hose fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  3. Install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose to the oil cooler hose fitting.

  4. Object Number: 190501  Size: SH
  5. Connect the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler. Ensure that the oil cooler seal is in place. Coat the seal with engine oil.

  6. Object Number: 190502  Size: SH
  7. Install the oil cooler connector.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler connector to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  9. Connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.

  10. Object Number: 190544  Size: SH
  11. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  12. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  15. Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  16. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.

Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Outlet

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 190592  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt from the oil cooler pipe bracket at the right engine mount strut bracket.

  4. Object Number: 190504  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the upper oil cooler outlet hose from the thermostat bypass pipe.
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  7. Disconnect the lower oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.
  8. Remove the oil cooler outlet hoses and pipe.
  9. Remove the upper and/or lower oil cooler outlet hose(s) from the oil cooler pipe.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upper and/or lower oil cooler outlet hose(s) to the oil cooler pipe.

  2. Object Number: 190504  Size: SH
  3. Install the oil cooler outlet hoses and pipe.
  4. Connect the lower oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Connect the upper oil cooler outlet hose to the thermostat bypass pipe.

  7. Object Number: 190592  Size: SH

  8. Install the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt through the oil cooler pipe bracket into the right engine mount strut bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler pipe bracket bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  11. Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  12. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
