Removal Procedure

For proper routing and replacement of canister hoses, refer to Emission Hose Routing Diagram . When replacing the hoses, use 6148M or equivalent.

  1. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in Cautions and Notices. Raise the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 263192  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the EVAP lines.
  4. Be sure to mark the EVAP lines to ensure correct Installation.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister retainer Bolt.
  6. Remove the EVAP canister (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EVAP canister (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the EVAP canister retainer bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister retainer bolt to 10N·m (88 lb in)

  5. Connect the lines to the EVAP canister.
  6. Be sure to connect the lines to the EVAP canister correctly.

  7. Lower the vehicle.
