  1. Inspect the drive belt tensioner pulley. Ensure that the drive belt tensioner pulley is vertically aligned with the other accessory drive pulleys. If the drive belt tensioner pulley is NOT vertically aligned with the other accessory drive pulleys, replace the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Ensure that the drive belt tensioner moves freely. Insert a breaker bar or ratchet into the tensioner in order to rotate the tensioner counterclockwise, then slowly lower the drive belt tensioner pulley to the drive belt. If the drive belt tensioner binds or does not move freely, replace the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
