J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture

1. Install the trim cover protector (1) to the lower trim cover (2).



2. Install the upper trim cover (2) onto the column.
3. Slide the shift lever seal down the shift lever and install into the upper trim covers (2).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

4. Secure the upper trim cover (2) using the TORX® head screw (1).

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).




5. Install the lower trim cover (2) and secure by using the 2 pan head tapping screws (1).

Adjust the shift lever seal into the trim cover.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).




6. Take the column out from the J 41352 .
7. Remove the top piece of J 41352 from the steering column.
8. Remove J 41352 from the vise.
