Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 295302  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor resistor/relay.

  4. Object Number: 295327  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor.
  6. Loosen both of the forward mounting screws.
  7. Do not remove the forward mounting screws.

    The blower motor resistor/relay opening is slotted because the access is extremely limited.

  8. Remove the rearward mounting screw.
  9. Important: Be careful when removing the blower motor resistor/relay. The resistor/relay is a ceramic card.

  10. Remove the blower motor resistor/relay.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the blower motor resistor/relay card and the attaching screws.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rearward mounting screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rearward mounting screw to 1.9 N·m (16 lb in).

  5. Tighten both forward mounting screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the forward mounting screws to 1.9 N·m (16 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connector from the blower resistor/relay to the blower motor.

  8. Object Number: 295302  Size: SH
  9. Connect the electrical connector to the blower motor resistor/relay.
  10. Install the right-side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
