For 1990-2009 cars only
- Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Remove the key from the ignition switch.
- Remove the SDM Fuse from the fuse block.
- Remove the left insulator panel.
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (3) from the driver frontal air bag yellow 2-way connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.
- Disconnect the driver frontal air bag yellow 2-way connector (2).
- Remove the right insulator panel.
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the passenger frontal air bag yellow 2-way connector (1) located behind the right insulator panel.
- Disconnect the passenger frontal air bag yellow 2-way connector (1).
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector (4) located under the driver seat.
- Disconnect the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector (4).
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the driver seat belt pretensioner yellow 2-way connector (3) located under the driver seat.
- Disconnect the driver seat belt pretensioner yellow 2-way connector (3).
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the passenger side air bag yellow 2-way connector (4) located under the front passenger seat.
- Disconnect the passenger side air bag yellow 2-way connector (4).
- Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the passenger seat belt pretensioner yellow 2-way connector (3) located under the front passenger seat.
- Disconnect the passenger seat belt pretensioner yellow 2-way connector (3).
Important: With the SDM Fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
