  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect inoperative door lock actuator electrical connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the inoperative door lock harness connector terminals A an B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  4. Verify that the sliding door is closed when diagnosing an actuator on a sliding door.
  5. While observing the test lamp, press either door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp flash once upon pressing unlock?

Replace the inoperative door lock actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement or Sliding Door Lock Actuator Replacement or Power Sliding Door Lock Actuator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

  1. Connect a test lamp between inoperative door lock harness connector terminal A (terminal B on sliding door) and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. While observing the test lamp, press either door lock switch to the unlock position.

Does the test lamp flash once upon pressing unlock?

    • Check door lock switch plate plungers and striker for good connection (for sliding door).
    • Repair poor connection or open in circuit 295. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

    • Check door lock switch plate plungers and striker for good connection (for sliding door).
    • Repair poor connection or open in circuit 294 (passenger door lock) or circuit 694 (driver door lock). Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  4. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  6. Turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position within 1 second. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored).
