- Install the cruise control
release switch (3) and the stoplamp switch (1) to the brake pedal assembly
(2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Position the brake
pedal brace (4) to the brake pedal assembly and install the brace mounting
nuts
Tighten
Tighten the brake pedal brace mounting retain nuts (1) to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal assembly with the brace (3) to the vehicle.
- Install the the brake pedal brace (4).upper mounting bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pedal brace upper mounting bolt to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
- Install the brake pedal assembly mounting nuts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the brake pedal assembly mounting nuts (2) to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
- Install the brake booster
mounting nuts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the brake booster mounting nuts (3) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the cruise control release
and stoplamp switches.
- Install the booster push rod (2) to the brake pedal (1). and install
washer and retain clip.
- Adjust the stoplamp switch and the cruise control release switch.

- Install the knee bolster. Refer to

- Install the left side insulator panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side
