Subject: Intermittent Radio Noise or Poor Reception - amplifier antenna audio C69 HVAC rear RSA seat speaker static

Models:.

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Condition/Concern:

Intermittent unwanted radio speaker static, whine, or poor reception when equipped with (C69). Radio whine noise can come and go with no regularity. Radio reception can also fade out at the same time. Concern occurs after the vehicle has been driven for a while and is fully warmed up.

To duplicate the concern, change either the rear mode or temperature and listen for the noise to subside when the actuator operates. The noise will resume when the actuator rests.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Unplug the rear HVAC actuators one at a time and if the concern goes away, replace the applicable actuator. Current SPO part numbers are: mode door: 10317842; temperature door: 10310747.

Make sure to verify repair once actuator has been replaced. In some cases, both actuators may have to be replaced to resolve concern.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
