Removal Procedure
- Open and support the hood.
- Remove the bolt at the electrical center at the
upper tie bar.
- Rotate the electrical center up on the right front end sheet metal
diagonal brace.
- Unsnap the retainers in order to remove the electrical center
from the front end sheet metal diagonal brace.
- Reposition the electrical center from the right front end sheet
metal diagonal brace.
- Remove the connectors from the electrical center. Refer to
Connector Repairs
.
Installation Procedure
- Install the connectors to the electrical center. Refer
to
Connector Repairs
.
- Reposition the electrical center to the right
front sheet metal diagonal brace.
- Snap the electrical center retainers to the front end sheet metal
diagonal brace.
- Rotate the electrical center down.
- Align the electrical center to the fender and the upper tie bar.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt
to the electrical center at the upper tie bar.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Close the hood.
